چکیده

The emission of carbon dioxide gas from the cement manufacturing industry has raised concerns about global warming. Geopolymer concrete (GC) is gaining attention as a sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional concrete. current study focused on using local clay synthesize characterize metakaolin-based GC with varying percentages nanosilica (NS) (1.5%, 3.0%, 4.5%, 6.0%, 7.5% by weight MK content) NaOH/sodium silicate. geopolymer specimens were cured at room temperature for 28 days, their workability, compressive, tensile, flexural strengths measured evaluate influence NS concrete’s mechanical properties. found that increased gradually up 6.0% NS, but any further increase in its ratio resulted reduction characteristics. concludes addition metakaolin (MK)-based produces highest properties, improving compressive strength mix 34.3% compared control split tensile 39% 37%, respectively, strengths. Furthermore, statistical analysis confirms nano-silica’s significant impact emphasizing role performance sustainability an cement-based materials.

Rheology of Geopolymer: Comparative Study between Portland Cement and Metakaolin Based Geopolymer

Metakaolin based geopolymers are presented in many studies as an alternative to normal Portland cement. Previous studies have focused on their chemical and mechanical properties, their microstructures and their potential uses, but very few on their rheological behaviour. Our work highlights the main differences that exist between geopolymer and Portland cement. These materials behave as Newtoni...

A study of Metakaolin and Silica Fume used in various Cement Concrete Designs

In the present study, effect of pozzolanic material (Metakaolin and Silica fume) is studied through compressive and Flexural strength in cement concrete. Metakaolin and silica fume area used as cement replacement materials at 5%, 10% and 15% by mass keeping water–cement ratio as 0.42 Compressive and Flexural strength were observed after 7 and 28 days of curing. Silica fume is a by products resu...

Application-Oriented Chemical Optimization of a Metakaolin Based Geopolymer

In this study the development of a metakaolin based geopolymeric mortar to be used as bonding matrix for external strengthening of reinforced concrete beams is reported. Four geopolymer formulations have been obtained by varying the composition of the activating solution in terms of SiO₂/Na₂O ratio. The obtained samples have been characterized from a structural, microstructural and mechanical p...

Study of Metakaolin-Based Geopolymer with Addition of Polymer Admixtures

In the present work, metakaolin-based geopolymer including different polymer admixtures was studied. Different types of commercial polymer admixtures VINNAPAS® and polyethylene glycol of different relative molecular weight were used as polymer admixtures. The main objective of this work is to investigate the influence of different types of admixtures on the properties of metakaolin-based geopol...

Effects of Nano-SiO2 on Setting Time and Compressive Strength of Alkali- activated Metakaolin-based Geopolymer

This study presents a discussion on the effects of different solid-to-liquid (S/L) ratios (0.97 to 1.19) and nanoSiO2 (NS) percentages (0% to 3%) on some properties of metakaolin (MK)-based geopolymers. The setting time and compressive strength were investigated. Mercury intrusion porosimetry, fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy were used to determine the m...
